Troubleshooting
Is the Agri-Flame furnace certified for use in Canada?
How many BTU's is the furnace?
How much does it burn in one day?
How do you light it?
Can I burn wood pellets?
The Agri-Flame Forced Air Furnace comes with two firepots. The larger firepot is mainly used for large homes and on cold winter days. If you do not need the amount of heat the larger firepot produces, the smaller firepot (used mostly by smaller homes and fall or spring days) can be inserted into the larger one to reduced the amount of heat produced. The small firepot also greatly reduces the amount of fuel consumption.
What size of a house will it heat?
What size of a shed will it heat?
Why are their two firepots?
The Agri-Flame Furnace is very easy to ignite. First, fill the firepot with the desired fuel up to the bottom set of holes. Next, place some loosely crumpled paper on top of the fuel and ignite the paper (Wood pellets can also be used to help light the fire. Lastly, press the start button. The automatic controls take care of the rest.
The Agri-Flame Furnace will heat up an approximately 2,500 sq ft house. We use it to heat our older 2 storey brick house with no problems.
We recommend that you only use wood pellets to light the furnace. Wood pellets can burn backward in the auger while corn and grain will not.
Yes, we proudly display the Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada certification to burn corn, wheat or barley.
The Agri-Flame Forced Air Furnace is fed from the bottom of the firepot which pushes the ashes over the top of the firepot and into the ash pan at the bottom. The ash pan should be emptied at least once per week.
The Agri-Flame furnace can produce 100,000 BTU's with the large firepot.
The Furnace will heat a much larger shed than 2,500 sq ft because of the open design of the shed. It depends greatly on how well the building is insulated and the desired temperature.
How often does the furnace have to be cleaned?
Can I use a Power Vent?
Can I hook the Agri-Flame Furnace up to my existing ductwork?
Does it use much hydro?
Do I need a chimney?
What will happen if the power fails?
No, the Furnace draws about 8 amps with all the components on.
Yes, the furnace is designed to operate with a 6 inch chimney with at least 0.04 inches WC draft.
The furnace is designed with common heating components that are easily purchased at any heating and cooling supplier to make it easier for the owner.
Yes, the bin can be located on either side. Just tell us which side you would like the bin on when you are looking in the door. Once the bin is assembled the bin CANNOT be relocated
We warranty the firebox for 5 years and the Electrical for 1 year.
No. Agri-Flame Heating Systems are not licensed heating and cooling installers.
We have not found an insurance provider that has had a problem with any corn or grain stove or furnace.
Can I use the same chimney as my other furnace?

How long does the bin last?
How much will it cost to heat my home for a season?
Depending on which firepot is used, the daily consumption can be as little as one bushel per day up to three bushels per day.
The Agri-Flame Furnace can easily be operated with a small generator. If you do not have a generator, the Furnace will automatically shut down. If the Furnace is off for an extended period of time, you may have to re-light the Furnace. NEVER operate a generator in your basement unless the exhaust is properly vented. It is much more easier and safer to operate the generator outside and run a proper extension cord to the furnace.
This is almost an impossible question to answer. It depends greatly on the insulation, windows, design, and desired temperature of your house.
Our home is a 2-storey brick farmhouse built around 1900. The windows were replaced about 20 years ago and is insulated with blown-in insulation. We keep our house around 80 degrees fahrenheit
The bin can hold approximately 8 bushels and last usually 3-5 days in mid-winter.
Absolutely. The Furnace can be easily attached to existing ductwork without removing your other heating source. Make sure that their are proper backflow preventers on place to prevent the air from flowing through your other furnace. We recommend that you consult a licensed professional to install the furnace.
We do not recommend the use of a power vent. In the event of a power failure, smoke will not be properly exhausted and could cause damage to your home.
We recommend that you use a separate chimney to maintain the proper draft for both heating appliances.
